The 4 Axle Hydra Steer Trailer comes in a veriety of spreds. Standard axle spacing makes this a very maneuverable trailer with great capacity.
Wider spreads on this trailer allows the user to permit more weight than
a unit with no spread. Each state has different restrictions
The 14’-1” spread on this unit was required to meet restrictions in Ohio.
Steering the Hydra-Steer is accomplished with a two-button pendant located right in the cab. Most drivers report that steering is accomplished almost without thought.
Dual hydraulic steering power
Two heavy-duty hydraulic cylinders deliver the positive force to turn the axle assembly. These cylinders are mounted on each side of the trailer at the pivot-point just forward of the axle. When these cylinders are fully extended, the trailer attains an approximate 20 degree turning radius.
Self-contained power system
Hydra-Steer's hydraulic system, in a conveniently accessible cabinet, is completely independent of the truck's power supply. A compartment in the trailer houses the entire separate system including an electrically started gas engine. The cabinet is protected by a snap-out hinged steel door or cover.
Lines and cables
Trailer couples readily to any tractor for non-load travel.
