Long Loads Hauled
With Ease

No matter your load, if it's self-supporting and long --even if it's very long--we have (or will easily build) a Hydra-Steer that will deliver your load with ease.

Pole-Trailers comes in two or three axle Hydra-Steer configurations but can be designed to your specifications.

Hydra-Steer Trailers from 2 to 9 Axle's

ERMC's Hydra-Steer Trailer is a steerable trailer used for transporting very long, self-supporting loads. It allows the driver to control the load whether going forward or backing up. Hydra-Steer trailer designs are available from 2 to 9 axles. The Hydra-Steer is powered by its own hydraulic power unit mounted on the trailer.

Elk River Machine Company has been producing a variety of custom trailers for over 36 years and has customers throughout the United States. Our trailers have been involved in hauling loads of all shapes and sizes. Extremely long loads (up to 250' long steel beams), extremely wide loads (18' wide carried on special bunks) and extremely heavy loads (over 250,000 lb.).

The Hydra Steer allows oversized loads to be moved safely and effortlessly by steering with a push button pendant located inside the tractor cab. We build standard and custom designed trailers depending on your needs and state requirements.

Backing up with the Hydra-Steer trailer is simple and easy

Steering that becomes second nature
Steering the Hydra-Steer is accomplished with a two-button pendant located right in the cab. Most drivers report that steering is accomplished almost without thought.
Dual hydraulic steering power
Two heavy-duty hydraulic cylinders deliver the positive force to turn the axle assembly. These cylinders are mounted on each side of the trailer at the pivot-point just forward of the axle. When these cylinders are fully extended, the trailer attains an approximate 20 degree turning radius.
Self-contained power system
Hydra-Steer's hydraulic system, in a conveniently accessible cabinet, is completely independent of the truck's power supply. A compartment in the trailer houses the entire separate system including an electrically started gas engine. The cabinet is protected by a snap-out hinged steel door or cover.
Lines and cables
Trailer couples readily to any tractor for non-load travel.
